दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के छात्र को मिला 1.02 करोड़ रुपए के पैकेज

संस्‍थान के इतिहास में अभी तक का सबसे बड़ा पैकेज हैं
दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी फैकल्टी ऑफ मैनेजमेंट स्टडीज एफएमएस के एक छात्र को एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय कंपनी ने 1.02 करोड़ रुपए के पैकेज की पेशकश की है। संस्थान के इतिहास में यह सर्वाधिक राशि वाला पैकेज है। एफएमएस में यह सबसे बड़ा घरेलू वेतन पैकेज है जहां इस साल शत-प्रतिशत प्लेसमेंट रहा।इस साल का औसत वेतन पैकज 20.5 लाख है जिसमें पिछले साल की तुलना में 20 फीसदी का इजाफा दर्ज किया गया है।

21 प्रतशित का हुआ इजाफा
एफएमएस के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि पिछले साल का सबसे ज्यादा घरेलू पैकेज 35 लाख रुपए सालाना का था और इस साल यह तकरीबन दोगुना हो गया है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस साल प्लेसमेंट कार्यक्रम में 210 स्टूडेंट्स बैठे थे। इंस्टिट्यूट में इस साल गर्ल्स स्टूडेंट्स के पैकेज में पिछले साल के मुकाबले 20 प्रतिशत का इजाफा हुआ है जबकि लड़कों के पैकेज में 21 प्रतिशत का। Read more National News http://inextlive.jagran.com/national

Google’s Android M operating system may give users more control over privacy

Tech News  – According to Bloomberg, Google’s Android operating system is set to give users more detailed choices over what apps can access that may include photos, contacts or location.

The feature will allow users to decide whether an app can be downloaded and the new settings would give them the option to pick and choose what an app can access, the report said.

Android M may also bring the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces and will open up new markets for millions of devices to workers at small businesses.

In case of web, Google announced a free extension for its Chrome web browser that better protects Google accounts, including email, against online attackers trying to steal passwords and other personal information.

The extension, called Password Alert, can be downloaded on Google Chrome and warns users before they enter account information on “phishing” pages, or imitation sites designed to steal passwords and access personal information, such as emails or online bank accounts.

Facebook testing internal search engine for mobile app: Report

Tech News  – For now, a few iOS users are seeing an “add a link” option next to the buttons to add photos, locations, and feelings. After users enter a keyword in the search bar, Facebook suggests related news articles to post. However, it is not clear if the update will be available to everyone, reported The Verge.

Posting links to Facebook using a smartphone is quite cumbersome and therefore, the update may be aimed at tackling that problem. It could also be related to Facebook’s plan to get publishers to post content to its site directly.

By hosting content and allowing users to search for stories in its own app, Facebook is not just trying to make it easier to read and share content but also preventing people from leaving the website.

Tech News  – The apps, available easily as free downloads on both Android and iPhone devices, broadly enable parents to block specific web categories, set appropriate time usage limits and enable safe search to block harmful sites from search results. They also monitor social media content and more.

For instance, ‘eKavach’, developed by Delhi­based Certus Technologies has introduced a feature that allows parents to receive instant notifications about their child’s online activity and change settings on the move

Another mobile app ‘Nischint’, developed by Dubai­based Raghav Mimani comes with the option of monitoring phone calls – outgoing, incoming and missed calls while also keeping a tab on logs of SMS.’Nischint’ also provides a feature where parents can be put on alert in case of the usage of a ‘Child emergency Shout Out with GPS location’ to rush immediate help in a crisis.

“Our ultimate goal is to create the most advanced open platform that adds new and interesting applications to keep up with the constantly changing threat landscape. While making the experience deep but safe. Our vision is to ensure the next 1 billion children are digitally secure,”
says Mimani.

US based app ‘Mama Bear’ which was launched in 2012, is providing parents with an option to monitor “risky words” used by children on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr.

Fujifilm introduces four instant-print cameras at Rs 6441 onwards

Tech News  – The Mini 8 is priced for Rs 6,441, Mini 25 for Rs 8,045, Mini 50S for Rs 9,147 and the Mini 90 will be made available for Rs 10,999 in the Indian retail market and also on online platforms.

“Instant Print comes out of the camera, develops gradually and gets sharpened in few minutes,” said the company’s release.

The Mini 8 camera is built-in with an easy operational system for clicking pictures and adjusting the brightness. Also, it has constant firing flash feature. The Instax Mini 8 is available for purchase in five soothing colours like Pink, Blue, White, Yellow and Black.

The Instax Mini 25 features compact design and primarily is a selfie camera.

The Instax Mini 50S comes with a self-timer mode that helps users click automatic picture as per their set time.

The Instax Mini 90 sports a classic/retro look. The devices is built-in with high performance flash,  macro mode, bulb and double exposure features.

Micromax gears up to launch Canvas Spark on April 21 in India

Tech News – Micromax has been teasing its new Canvas phone for over a week now. The company started sending out invited for its due launch event scheduled for on April 21.

The company had informed the Canvas Spark will run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.

According to the teasers, the Canvas Spark’s 4.7-inch display will be shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The company hasn’t disclosed any other information on the specifications yet. If the rumours are to be believed, the smartphone will be priced around Rs 6,000 approximately.

The domestic mobile maker revealed the smartphone will be exclusively available through e-commerce portal Snapdeal for purchase and the company will reportedly follow the flash sale method for its product.

Apple in talks to launch Apple Pay in Canada

Tech News – The iPhone maker is in talks with Canada’s six biggest banks, Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto-Dominion Bank, Bank of Nova Scotia, Bank of Montreal, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and National Bank of Canada, the people told the Journal.

The banks are open to an agreement, but are not happy with Apple’s fee proposals and are worried about security vulnerabilities like the ones that U.S. banks experienced, the newspaper said, citing the people.

It was still unclear if all six Canadian banks would launch Apple Pay at the same time, the Journal said.

Facebook strips smiles from fake ‘like’ sellers

Tech News – Advances in technology for recognizing suspicious patterns of likes has enabled the social network  to block such activity by malicious software, fraudulent accounts, and click farm operations that employ armies of low-paid workers.

“We continue to adapt and improve the methods we use to prevent fake likes because scammers are constantly evolving and testing new methods to try to get around our spam prevention systems,” Facebook site security engineer H Kerem Cevahir said in a blog post.

“This work has made it extremely difficult for the people selling fraudulent likes to actually deliver their promised likes to paying customers.”

During the past six months, Facebook has tripled the number of seemingly bogus likes detected and blocked before reaching pages, according to Cevahir.

He credited the campaign with causing a large number of vendors hawking inauthentic likes to go out of business. Facebook also removes fake likes from pages at the social network, notifying account administrators to the actions.

Cevahir said that fraudulent behavior was only “a tiny fraction” of the overall activity on Facebook. “Likes created by fake accounts or people without real intent are bad for people on Facebook, advertisers and Facebook itself,” read a security guidance page at California-based online social network.

Net neutrality: Flipkart pulls out of Airtel Zero

Tech News – We will be walking away from the ongoing discussions with Airtel for their platform Airtel Zero. We will be committing ourselves to the larger cause of net neutrality in India,” a company spokesperson said.

“We will be working towards ensuring that the spirit of net neutrality is upheld and applied equally to all companies in India, irrespective of the size or the service offered and there is absolutely no discrimination whatsoever,” the spokesperson added.

Net neutrality implies equal treatment to all Internet traffic and any priority given to an application or company on payment basis is seen as violating the concept.

Launched last week, Airtel Zero is an open-marketing platform that allows customers to access a variety of mobile applications for free, with the data charges being paid by the applications.

Over one lakh netizens have already written to telecom regulator TRAI in support of net neutrality in the country.
