ICC World Cup 2015: Five major points of league phase

India stand tall against opponents: India, which bagged the top spot in Pool B after the first round of ongoing World Cup, has achieved a rare feet of bowling out all the six opponents in its respective matches.

Starting with high voltage clash against arch-rival Pakistan, India bowled out South Africa, UAE, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe, within the allotted 50 overs. This is the second time a team have bowled out an opposition six consecutive times in the World Cup, the first being South Africa in the 2011 edition.

Centurion Kumar Sangakkara: Sri Lankan batting great Kumar Sangakkara, who is in prime form, scored four consecutive centuries in the World Cup. He is the first player in cricket history to hit four hundreds in the World Cup. He is also the first overseas batsman to score five hundreds in Australia.

Bangladesh knock England out: In one of the most eventful matches of the first round, Bangladesh defeated England to knock them out of the World Cup. This was not the first time in quadrennial event that minnows Bangladesh spoiled the party of a big gun. In 2007 World Cup, Bangladesh had defeated India also.

Teams scoring 300+ runs: The tournament has so far witnessed an incredible twenty three 300-plus totals, three scores of 400-plus runs. ICC World Cup 2015 has already set record for number of runs and hundreds scored, more than in the entire 2007 competition.
